Emma Raducanu and Naomi Osaka both reached the first round of the US Open in straight sets.
Raducanu beat Julia Quincey 7-6 (7-3), 6-4, 6-2 to set up a clash with Simona Halep.
Naomi Osaka was just as much of a challenge, as she defeated Madison Keys 6-4, 6-3, 6-2.

Raducanu had an early fight with Jelena Ostapenko but eventually pulled away from the former world number one, who was beaten in three sets.
Ostapenko was not far behind in the second round as she beat Daria Kasatkina 6-4, 6-3, 6-0.
The world number 37 will next face Daria Gavrilova in the day-two clash
Raducanu said: “I have to thank my coach and my friends for believing that I could do this.
“I don’t think you need to say this: It’s a dream come true.
“Of course I am afraid, with these types of injuries you shouldn’t be afraid to play in the biggest tournaments.
“I am sure I will be nervous and tense when I am playing in the second round.
“I am very excited, though.”
Raducanu said she found the opening against Ostapenko “the hardest of the tournament”.
She said: “When you have a shoulder injury it can be very difficult.
